What is Senior Day?
You're invited to join more than 1,000 local organizations in all 50 states on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 as we celebrate the 16th annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day. The common goal for this day: to help keep older Americans healthy and fit. Always set for the last Wednesday in May, National Senior Health & Fitness Day is the nation's largest annual health promotion event for older adults.
National Senior Health & Fitness Day is organized as a public-private partnership by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national information clearinghouse for the older adult market.
What will happen on National Senior Health & Fitness Day?
Local organizations will host a variety of health and fitness related activities based on the interests of the older adults in their communities. Event activities include fitness walks, low-impact exercises, health screenings, health information workshops, and much more!
Who can host a National Senior Health
& Fitness Day event?
Any local organization interested in the health and fitness of older adults is eligible to host a National Senior Health & Fitness Day event. Each local group, however, must register by purchasing the registration packet available by calling 1-800-828-8225.
